OurTurn Privacy Policy

1. Overview

OurTurn is published by ClearlySimple. It is a local-first iPhone application for couple questions and conversation-card sessions. OurTurn does not require an OurTurn account, and ClearlySimple does not operate a custom backend that stores your private couple conversations, answers, voice recordings, profile image, or History.

“Local-first” does not mean that no information ever leaves your device. Purchase providers process entitlement information, and information leaves the app when you deliberately share or export it. Those situations are described below.

In short

Your relationship content is stored locally by default. OurTurn has no advertising, no cross-app behavioral advertising tracking, and no custom behavioral analytics service.

2. Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use OurTurn, the app may store the following information locally on your device:

your nickname and optional profile image;
conversation interests, preferences, and settings;
seen-question state;
session and deck History, including card state;
text answers and voice recordings you choose to save;
relationships between sessions or decks you import, send, or receive; and
locally generated .ourturn files and backup or export files.

This content supports features you choose to use. ClearlySimple does not receive this private relationship content through an OurTurn content-storage backend.

4. Purchases and entitlement verification

Apple

OurTurn offers auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s App Store. Plans currently include monthly and annual options. The annual plan may include a 7-day introductory free trial for eligible users. Apple handles billing, renewal, cancellation, and payment processing. ClearlySimple does not receive or store your full payment-card details through OurTurn. Apple handles transaction and subscription information according to its own privacy practices.

RevenueCat

OurTurn uses RevenueCat to determine subscription entitlement, validate and manage purchase status, determine whether the full_access entitlement is active, and support restoration of purchases. RevenueCat may process information required for this service, including App Store transaction information, subscription or purchase status, app and device technical information, and an App User ID or customer identifier. OurTurn does not have a user-account system.

RevenueCat is used for subscription status, not as OurTurn’s relationship-content service. You can read RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

If a subscription expires or is canceled, premium entitlement may change. That App Store status is separate from local OurTurn content and does not by itself delete local History, recordings, answers, or other data.

5. Device permissions and features

Microphone

OurTurn requests microphone access only when you choose a voice-recording feature. Recordings are associated with your local OurTurn data and are not uploaded to a ClearlySimple relationship-content backend. A recording may leave your device if you deliberately include it in a shared or exported file.

Photos

A profile image is optional. Photo access is used when you choose to select an image; OurTurn does not use that permission to collect your photo library. A profile image may travel with an OurTurn file if you include it in a file you deliberately share.

Notifications

If you enable an OurTurn reminder, the app can ask iOS to schedule a local notification on your device. These reminders do not use a ClearlySimple remote push-notification service.

6. This website

The OurTurn website does not use advertising pixels, marketing cookies, session recording, or third-party behavioral analytics. It therefore does not display a marketing-cookie consent banner.

The website is served using Cloudflare infrastructure. As part of delivering and protecting the site, Cloudflare may process ordinary network and request information at the infrastructure level under its own terms and practices. ClearlySimple does not use that infrastructure to store private OurTurn conversation content.

Advertising, tracking, and sale

OurTurn contains no advertising SDK, does not use cross-app behavioral advertising tracking, and does not sell couple-content data. Purchase processing by Apple and entitlement verification by RevenueCat remain subject to the limited purposes described above.

7. Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local content generally remains on your device until you delete the relevant content, use the app’s local deletion or reset controls, or remove the app—subject to the behavior of iOS and any device backup you maintain.

Use OurTurn’s export or backup features where available before deleting local data you want to keep. Once you send an exported copy elsewhere, that copy is outside OurTurn’s control. Apple and RevenueCat may retain transaction-related records according to their own legal and operational obligations.

8. Security

OurTurn’s local-first architecture reduces the amount of private relationship content sent to ClearlySimple infrastructure. No system can promise absolute security, and the security of deliberately shared copies also depends on the people, applications, and services you choose to share them with.

9. Children

OurTurn is a couple conversation application and is not designed for children. If you believe a child has provided information directly to ClearlySimple in connection with OurTurn, contact us so we can review the situation.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as OurTurn evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page.
